Class VI Schedule 2
RULES FOR EXEMPTION

SIZE Floor area not to exceed 30m2 (322.9 sq.ft.).
(Net floor area measured between finished wall surfaces.)
USE NOT used for sleeping accommodation.
SITING

If constructed of combustible materials e.g. timber walls, felt covered or thatch roof the building MUST be sited a minimum of 1m from any boundary.
If constructed of substantially NON COMBUSTIBLE materials, e.g. brick or concrete block walls with roof covering of slate, tile or sheeting then no restriction on distance from boundaries.

BUILDINGS DESIGNATED FOR USE AS A FALL-OUT OR AIR RAID SHELTER.
SIZE Floor area not to exceed 30m2.
EXCAVATION

Minimum distance of shelter from any other building to be:-
Where D = Distance from building
D = Depth of excavation plus 1m.

OTHER BUILDINGS e.g. Garden Shed
SIZE Floor area not exceeding 15m2.
USE Not used for sleeping accommodation.

Note:- If the proposed building is to be provided with electrical lighting and/or electrical sockets, an application for the electrical work will be required as indicated in Approved Document P of the Building Regulations.

Planning Permission may be required . You should therefore telephone your Local Authority and ask for Development Control for more information.
